The Arc’s Employment Services Division delivers individualized, wrap-around services that enable individuals with I/DD get and keep good jobs. We provide the training, placement and support necessary to prepare our clients for employment in inclusive, community-based settings, where they receive competitive wages.
How does the program work?
Funded through the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) and Department of Rehabilitation Services (DORS), employees receive on-site job coaching and support as needed. The Arc guides program employees into one of three typical employment paths:
- Individual placement - short term on the job training and periodic follow along services for an individual employee.
- Enclave employment - a small group of people directly hired by an employer who need on-going job coaching services on a daily basis. People work at the same facility and share a job coach.
- Mobile crews - a small group of workers and job coaches function as a unified team to complete a contracted job.
The Arc works hard to ensure that people find employment in areas that match their skills and interests.
