LARGO, MD — (August 4, 2026)  —  The Arc Prince George’s County has been selected as a recipient of a 2026 Thome Aging Well Grant, awarded by Enterprise Community Partners with funding from the Edward N. and Della L. Thome Memorial Foundation, Bank of America, Trustee. The grant will support The Arc’s aging-in-place services for older adults in Prince George’s County, helping ensure they can continue living safely, independently, and with dignity in the homes and communities they know best.

The Arc Prince George’s County is one of 24 organizations across Maryland and Michigan receiving a share of $3.8 million to strengthen services for older adults with lower incomes. The funding will allow trusted community organizations to respond quickly to local needs while helping older adults remain healthy, connected, and independent.

“As more adults choose to age in place, it is essential that they have access to the resources and support they need to remain safe, healthy, and connected to their communities,” said Thalia Simpson Clement, Chief Programs Officer at The Arc Prince George’s County. “This investment allows us to strengthen services that promote independence while honoring the dignity, choice, and quality of life every older adult deserves. We are grateful to Enterprise Community Partners and the Thome Foundation for recognizing the importance of community-based solutions that help people age where they feel most at home.”

The Arc Prince George’s County has a long history of supporting individuals and families across every stage of life. Through person-centered services, advocacy, and community partnerships, the organization helps older adults maintain independence while connecting them with resources that improve health, safety, and overall well-being.

Launched in 2022 by Enterprise Community Partners, the Thome Aging Well program uses a trust-based philanthropic approach that empowers local organizations to respond directly to the needs they see in their communities.

“These organizations will have the flexibility to meet older adults where they are and respond to the needs they see emerging in their communities,” said Stephany De Scisciolo, Enterprise Vice President of Impact, Evaluation and Population Health. “This is how we ensure that these grants will have the greatest impact—by placing them in the hands of trusted, community-based partners working every day to ensure older adults can remain in their homes and continue to live safely and comfortably in the neighborhoods they know.”

Since its launch, the Thome Aging Well program has awarded more than $23 million to 66 community-based, government, and tribal organizations, reaching more than 14,000 older adults through aging-in-place home modifications, workforce supports, preventive health screenings, food access and delivery programs, and other services that promote healthy aging.
