Honoring 30 Years of Dedication and Heart

A Journey Rooted in Purpose

When Crystal and Pauline joined The Arc in 1995, they likely didn’t imagine how much of an impact they would go on to have—or how many lives they would change along the way. Back then, The Arc looked different. Our programs were fewer, our resources more limited, but our mission was the same: to promote and protect the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively support their full inclusion and participation in the community.

From day one, Crystal and Pauline embraced this mission not as a job—but as a calling.

Crystal Ali: Champion of Empowerment and Inclusion

Known for her warmth, insight, and relentless dedication, Crystal Ali has long been a steady presence for the people we serve. She’s worked across multiple programs, always advocating for person-centered care, self-determination, and inclusive community engagement. Crystal has a gift for seeing the strengths in others, and she’s spent her career helping individuals realize those strengths for themselves.

“I’ve watched people go from needing support to leading others. That’s what makes this work so powerful,” Crystal shares.

Whether mentoring new staff or supporting individuals as they navigate transitions in their lives, Crystal leads with compassion—and lives The Arc’s values every single day.

Pauline Jannette Hutchinson: Quiet Leadership, Big Impact

Pauline Jannette Hutchinson is often described as calm, dependable, and deeply principled. Over the years, she’s become a go-to figure in our programs—not for accolades, but for action. She shows up, solves problems, and builds trust.

Her colleagues note her gift for quietly empowering those around her. Pauline has shaped countless staff members into thoughtful, person-first caregivers.

“My joy comes from watching someone grow—little by little, day by day,” says Pauline. “When they succeed, we all do.”

Living The Arc Values Every Day

Both Crystal and Pauline embody the core values of The Arc:

  • Respect: Honoring the dignity and unique abilities of every individual
  • Inclusion: Fostering spaces where every voice is heard and celebrated
  • Collaboration: Building partnerships with families, teams, and communities
  • Innovation: Adapting and evolving services to meet changing needs
  • Empowerment: Supporting autonomy, confidence, and self-advocacy

These are more than ideals—they’re the way Crystal and Pauline show up every day, creating a culture of care that elevates everyone around them.

A Legacy Worth Celebrating

Thirty years isn’t just a number—it’s a lifetime of memories, challenges overcome, and moments that matter. It’s holiday parties and hard conversations. It’s early mornings and heartfelt breakthroughs. It’s showing up again and again with purpose and pride.

On behalf of the entire Arc family, thank you, Crystal and Pauline, for your enduring passion, your leadership, and your heart. You’ve helped shape who we are—and we are better because of you.

Here’s to 30 years of service—and to the countless lives you’ve touched along the way. 🧡
