We encourage all Arc Members to get involved in a committee. The Arc will benefit from your ideas and perspectives, and you will have the opportunity to meet and engage with other advocates for people with disabilities. Find out what is happening, share ideas, learn about new resources and develop supportive friendships. It’s win-win for all of us!
Governmental Affairs Committee
Working in concert with the Arc Maryland and The Arc US Governmental Affairs Committees, this committee reviews and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors on matters related to public policy at the local, state and national levels. It also works closely with other local and statewide affiliated advocacy and service providing organizations. The committee informs Arc members of critical issues faced by people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and facilitates member participation in voicing their concerns to public officials.
