Community Investment Tax Credits

Why should YOU support The Arc Prince George’s through the Maryland CITC Program?

  • Reduce your Maryland State Tax Liability
  • Help The Arc Prince George’s provide Community Inclusion for our neighbors with disabilities
  • Make a substantial and targeted impact in Prince George’s County

Community Investment Tax Credits (CITC) complement other State funding programs which offer resources to assist communities with revitalization efforts. As part of an annual, competitive application process, The Arc Prince George’s County applied to the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development for tax credit allocations. The Community Investment Tax Credit program has leveraged nearly $27 million in charitable contributions to approximately 700 projects across the State.

The Arc Prince George’s will utilize the tax credits as incentives for individuals and businesses to donate money, goods or real property to support community inclusion projects delivering services throughout Prince George’s County Maryland.

Businesses and individuals that donate $500 or more towards our Community Inclusion Projects can earn tax credits equal to 50% of the value of the money, goods or real property contribution.

Individuals and businesses must use the tax credits against taxes owed for the year in which the contribution was made and may not be used retroactively for taxes from a prior year. Any individual or business contemplating making a donation is encouraged to contact our Director of Resource and Business Development Lorraine Settles and consult with their accountant or tax professional for information about their specific tax benefits.
