Committees

The Arc Education Committee:

Comprised of parents, Arc staff, and educators, The Arc Education Committee advocates for special education programs that lead to students’ personal, social, academic and economic development and that comply with federal and state laws and regulations. The Arc staff members serve as child advocates at Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings with schools and provide resources and referrals to other organizations that work with families. The Arc Education Committee serves as an umbrella committee over other education based teams such as the Least Restrictive Environment Committee, Community Referenced Instruction Classes, and Autism Classes. Committee meetings are open to all interested educators and family members. The Arc Education Committee meets the second Tuesday of the month from 6:30 – 8:00 at The Arc Building, 1401 McCormick Drive, Largo.

The Sarah Petit Fund Committee:

The Sarah Petit Fund provides supplemental grants to assist people with developmental disabilities to participate in a wide variety of recreational and travel experiences. The fund’s hope is that these experiences will foster the growth of friendships, meaningful community relationships, and joy in living for as many people in as many different life situations as possible. Committee members, comprised of Arc staff and volunteers, review and approve grant applications.

Click here for more information on the Sarah Petit Fund and applications.

Bowling Bash Committee:

The annual Bowling Bash raises funds for The Sarah Petit Fund, a grant program developed to help people with developmental disabilities participate in recreational and travel experiences. Board of Directors:

Comprised of leaders in the fields of business, government, education, and disability, our Board of Directors guides The Arc toward success. All board meetings are held at 6:30 PM on the 4th Thursday of every month at The Arc Building, 1401 McCormick Drive, Largo.
