Children's Services: In-Home Supports
What
are In-Home Supports?
The In-Home Supports Programs are committed to providing
quality supports that enhance the lives of children
and adults with disabilities and their families and
enable them to continue to live in their own homes and
participate in their communities. The programs are designed
to provide flexible, creative solutions that support
the health and well being of people with developmental
disabilities and their families.
What
supports are offered?
The Arc’s Community Supported Living Arrangements
(CSLA) and Family and Individual Support Services (FISS)
are funded through the Developmental Disability Administration
(DDA); each person’s funding is determined by
the DDA based on needs and the availability of funds.
Personal Care is a Medicaid funded program designed
to provide in-home assistance with personal hygiene
for people with disabilities. All programs support children
and adults living with their families or independently.
Everyone receives case management and has specific budgets
with which to purchase services.
Who
is eligible?
To receive services, you must be approved to receive
DDA funding. To receive Personal Care services, you
must be approved for Medicaid. For more information
on any of The Arc’s In-Home Supports Programs,
please contact Karen Oliver at koliver@thearcofpgc.org or at 301-925-7050, ext. 245.
What
if I don’t have DDA funding?
Low Intensity Support Services (LISS) funds are available
for children and adults with developmental disabilities
who need short-term assistance. The program assists
with respite care services, medical expenses not covered
by insurance, daily living expenses, and disability
related expenses such as specialized camps, communication
devices, and adaptive equipment.
How
do I receive funds?
LISS funds are limited, and they are only available
to people who are Maryland residents with a developmental
disability, and who are not currently recieving DDA
funding for full residential supports. For information
about LISS, please contact Karen Oliver at liss@thearcofpgc.org
or at 301-925-7050, ext. 245. Click
