SPIRIT (Social Physical Interactive Respectful Inclusive Teamwork) Club is a weekly health and fitness program for adults with special abilities and needs that provides its members with exercise instruction, healthy snacks and take-home portfolios with nutritional guidance. This program will be held at The Arc Prince George's County Administrative Building on McCormick Drive every Monday. The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George's County presents the 5k GLOW Walk/Run for Autism on Thursday, April 2, 2015. This fun walk/run is for all abilities and proceeds will benefit the BLING FOR BLUE scholarship. Advanced registration is encouraged. ArcShop: After the Autism Diagnosis: What's Next?

In recognition of Autism Awareness month, The Arc invites you to join them for an informative overview of autism. All participants will have a chance to enter a raffle for two opportunities to win a Resource Binder complete with the "100 day Kit for Newly Diagnosed Families of Young Children" from Autism Speaks, and one opportunity to win a copy of "Ten Things Every Child with Autism Wishes You Knew" by Ellen Notbomn. Transition 101 is a series of workshops for families whose children are transitioning from school to adult services. Come to February's workshop where you will hear from the MMARS, Resource Connections, Inc., and Total Care Services, Inc. , discussing the topic of Resource Coordination. You will learn about services resource coordinators provide to support your entry into DDA-funded services and how they assist with the transitioning youth process. F.A.C.E.'s Place is a program offering a fun-filled environment personailized to meet the needs of children and teenagers with autism and other developmental and intellectual disabilities. Family members and caregivers will have an opportunity to enjoy a brief period of restorative relief, knowing that their children are in a safe, loving, understanding, and accepting environment. Activities include music therapy, dance, arts & Crafts, sensory play, social time, and indoor/outdoor play.
